Plumlife’s show home is due to launch in November 2016. Interest in the scheme has been high with the 123 enquiries already received. The site will aim to meet affordable housing needs for residents and is designed to appeal to local working households.

Levenshulme is a key development area for Great Places. Poet’s Place compliments Manchester City Council’s strategy to increase the number of homes available to purchase through Shared Ownership and outright sale in the city. The site, which previously housed industrial units, was designed and built by MCI Developments and has been partly funded by a contribution of £802,000 from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).

It’s important we can target people in the city, who would otherwise struggle to find a home either to rent or buy, through genuinely affordable products. We want new housing in the city to be available to as many people as possible. High quality homes across a range of tenures is vital and is something lacking in many new developments.

Poet’s Place will ensure a range of affordable homes, for sale and rent, are available to the local community. In-line with Great Places’ ethos, we’ll be providing modern and spacious housing in an area where supply is low and helping to make a positive difference to Levenshulme.

We’re delighted to commence work in Levenshulme with our valued partners. Initial demand for our outright sale homes is high and our construction programme is already ahead of schedule. The development will regenerate a derelict brownfield site which has been an eyesore for a number of years now.

Land Director at MCI Developments
