The draft framework for the residential-led regeneration of the Northern Gateway has been endorsed by Manchester City Council’s Executive and Scrutiny Committees and will now go out for public consultation.
The vision is to transform a swathe of land and extend the city centre northwards with a new city river park, 15,000 homes, new community facilities and a focus on healthy lifestyles and connectivity.
The draft framework can be downloaded here: http://northerngatewaymanchester.co.uk/
This is an important step but just the first stage of the process to revitalise this important area and help sustain the city’s continued economic growth by creating liveable, connected neighbourhoods surrounded by green space.
Consultation events to encourage people to look at the ideas and contribute to them will be held over the summer and details of venues will be announced shortly.
